About Us

We bring together a diverse and highly-skilled team offering a range of environmental services to suit your project. We can undertake pre-development surveys in a range of specialist fields; prepare project approval documents and guide you through the approvals process; prepare environmental management plans; undertake compliance audits against approval documentation; provide ongoing environmental services and advice, and help your organisation to access funding for environmental restoration activities.

TEF has expertise in a wide range of ecological survey and assessment in both terrestrial and aquatic environments. We are well versed in the requirements of the State and Commonwealth threatened species legislation, and have applied our experience to a diverse range of projects from ecological monitoring, infrastructure projects (road, water, rail, mining) to urban development (subdivisions and rezoning), in order to define the constraints and opportunities inherent within any proposal. TEF has the capacity to work through each development or stage of a project, from the conception phase, construction, commissioning and to project finalisation, and we consistently deliver outcomes with integrity and rigour to satisfy regulatory bodies. TEF has proven experience in terrestrial and aquatic flora and fauna surveys and assessment (using a range of biodiversity survey techniques), BioBanking assessments, clearance surveys, management plans, constraints and opportunities assessment, desktop analysis, targeted threatened flora and fauna survey and assessment, ecological monitoring and GIS guided habitat and vegetation mapping. TEF has a proven ability to work in extreme and remote areas, in any part of Australia.

To assist with successful project delivery, TEF also offers a range of environmental auditing and compliance review services. Our capabilities in this area range from conducting brief site inspections to verify compliance with approval documentation, through to the provision of an Independent Environmental Management Representative (EMR) or external auditor to meet Major Project requirements.

Our Services

From pre-development surveys to project close-out and rehabilitation, The Environmental Factor can provide a range of services to meet the environmental factor of your project. We have helped Councils, farmers and small landholders alike to not only access grants for environmental projects but then also project managed these funds once received to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes for all involved.

We have prepared numerous environmental approval documents including Reviews of Environmental Factors (REFs), Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), Operational Environmental Management Plans (OEMPs), Fisheries Permit applications, Controlled Activity Approval applications, Environment Protection Licence (EPL) applications and Section 60 Approval documentation. We have conducted ecological surveys for a range of species and projects, as well as completed due diligence Aboriginal Heritage Assessments in conjunction with the Local Aboriginal Land Services (LALC) and prepared Soil and Water Assessments in line with state and local government requirements.

If your project is already up and running, we can provide specialist, independent auditing services to ensure ongoing environmental compliance and implementation of best-practice environmental management for your organisation. We can help you to achieve Ecologically Sustainable Development.

What Our Clients Say

It has been a pleasure to work with the team at TEF. The team, while being diligent, efficient and professional in nature are also very approachable, friendly and exceptional communicators, and I would happily engage TEF again and recommend them to others for any environmental management project.
